Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Zoom Rooms?

Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Zoom Rooms?

Are You Getting the Most Out of Your Zoom Rooms?

There are generally two primary approaches when it comes to your conference room design. Software-based systems like Zoom and Skype for Business can be pulled up by members of the team on any web browser or through a mobile app. Hardware-based systems offer up high-end audio, video, and collaborative technology to make it easier to communicate with clients and employees.

The real secret, though, is that this doesn’t have to be an either/or proposition. To optimize your conference room design, you can go with a hybrid that combines the best of both worlds. In this blog, we highlight two partners we work with and showcase some ways to bring them together in your Wayzata, MN office.

ZOOM TAKES OVER THE CONFERENCE ROOM

Software-based solutions stand out due to their convenience. We work with Zoom, which offers a cloud-based platform you can access at any time. Bring in remote participants from desktops, smartphones or other conference rooms. Share content wirelessly via mobile or desktop apps and start meetings at just the press of a button. From a company-wide account, check when meetings are scheduled to make sure important ones don’t overlap.

CRESTRON TAKES ZOOM TO THE NEXT LEVEL

What makes Zoom conferencing stand out is the idea of Zoom Rooms. You take the convenience and innovation of Zoom conferencing and add the necessary hardware to achieve high-performance audio, video, and collaboration.

We recommend using products like Crestron Mercury in your conference room design. This all-in-one conferencing solution is compatible with most software-based collaboration. It includes a conference phone, Airmedia for wireless communication, room scheduling, occupancy sensors, and more.

Check out this previous blog we wrote on the ways Crestron transforms your conference room.

FINDING THE PERFECT ZOOM ROOM PACKAGE

How do you know which Crestron Zoom Room would be the best fit for your business? You should work with a professional like Lelch AV that gauges your conferencing needs and adds the needed AV equipment (like high-definition interactive displays) and network infrastructure so you can deliver consistent, impactful results at any time.

That being said, Crestron does offer a few standard Zoom Room packages that can help you get a feel as to what you could expect from one of our professional conference room designs:

  • Basic Package: This package includes Crestron Mercury, a mini-PC, USB camera, microphone array, and add-on microphone pods. You can control everything from a 7″ Crestron touchpad that includes the Zoom Room app.
  • Expanded Kit: The Expanded Kit includes an additional HDMI input, so users can connect their laptops or other digital devices. There is also a signal extender, so cameras and displays can be installed a few feet away from the conference table in larger rooms.
  • Expanded Kit (with camera): This kit includes the same as the two previous packages except it has an additional high-definition USB camera and an extender for flexible installation.

We can expand the number of displays, HDMI inputs, microphones and speakers as needed to make sure you get the necessary coverage no matter the size or scope. Our professional conference room designs combine the best of software and hardware-based solutions to optimize communications throughout your office.
