POWER OVER ETHERNET

Power over Ethernet, or PoE, lets your networkcabling carry electrical power, meaning both electrical current and data are running simultaneously through the same wiring without interfering with the other. PoE provides cost savings by reducing the time and expense of having additional electrical power cabling installed.

PoE’s dual-function approach ensures a more flexible installation, with minimal wires that we can place virtually anywhere in your home. In fact, one of its earliest applications resulted in the invisible wireless access point installations, most notably ceiling WAP setups, that we still see today.

A/V OVER IP

A/V over IP is a streaming-based infrastructure that works by sharing audio and video information via bitstream “packets.” These compressed file packets of video and audio information follow strict internet protocols, or IP, to safely transmit that bitstream across a network.

How? A/V over IP works through a series of encoders on the source devices and decoders on the destination devices, which all connect to IP switches instead of relying on multiple transmitters and matrix switchers.

Moving away from centralized A/V switching to distributed encoding and decoding, AV over IP allows smoother distribution of the AV processing capabilities. Users can easily scale A/V over IP to meet their needs as it will enable nearly limitless inputs and outputs for data. Although traditional A/V switchers only have a fixed number of ports, you can connect IP switches to expand your connection, allowing you to scale the number of ports to your needs much more conveniently.
